Cassie is a laid back Shepherd mix that is 7 years old.  Cassie is good with other dogs, housebroken, walks well on a leash and is crate trained (but does not need to be crated). She doesn't chew things or jump on people.  She is a sweet, well mannered, gentle girl that will come to you and give you her paw for attention. She would do better in a quiet environment since she can be timid at times. She did test positive for Heartworm and has been treated for it.  She has had her first 2 shots if she tests negative in 6 months she is done with treatment; if not she will need one more shot.  Please don't shy away from considering adopting Cassie.  Although she has tested positive for Heartworm, following the completion of treatment, she will be Heartworm free and can stay that way for the remainder of her life by simply giving her a monthly preventive year round.  All costs associated with Cassie's Heartworm treatment is covered by the rescue.
