Meet Lulu!  She is super sweet and very petite.  Her breed is a mystery, but she appears to be a spaniel or Australian Cattle Dog or possibly a Whippet or Italian Greyhound mix.  She has a short coat with pretty ticking and some feathering on her hind legs and tail.  Lulu is very people oriented.  She is the quintessential social butterfly!  She would be in heaven with a family that likes to go as much as her.  She would also be just as happy in a home where she gets at least two walks daily to satisfy her social side. She knows some commands, learns quickly, is very submissive to people, rides well in a vehicle, walks well on a leash, is generally quiet, crated trained, and house trained.  She is so gentle, that when you are giving her a treat, even fresh roasted chicken, she takes it like a baby is handing it to her!  She does like to jump up on people and she is working on sitting down to get pets.  She also has some separation anxiety which is evident when you leave out the front door without her.  

Unfortunately, a routine vet exam revealed Lulu has heartworm disease which she is being treated for.  Potential adopters, please don't let the heartworm deter you from considering Lulu.  Her new family will need to follow through with her treatment and restrict her activity during her recuperation period.  The rescue pays for all heartworm treatment and follow-up treatment as necessary, including spay.  Lulu is UTD on vaccines, has been dewormed and microchipped.  

Lulu resides with several other dogs, all smaller than she is.  She takes a bit to get comfortable with other dogs, but once comfortable, co-exists with them peacefully, although she doesn’t really seem to know how to play.  She enjoys stuffed toys and rolling in critter odors in the lawn.  Lulu will make some lucky family a wonderful companion

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
