Description:

Meet Lilly Lou!  Lilly is an active and fun young pup looking for an active family with children to spend her days with.  Lilly is about a year old and is a little over fifty pounds.  She loves to snuggle and play. Lilly Lou looks like an Entlebucher Mountain Dog but may be a hound mix. She is loving, gentle, housebroken, active,  knows several commands, is crated trained but does well in the house on her own, is very smart and has one of the best temperaments we have ever seen. She came to us from a rural southern shelter, and had not had a great life. Lilly was adopted out from the same place as a pup and lived with children but was not given very good care.  She came back to the shelter due to no fault of her own, with fur loss, and it was found she was pregnant at a very young age. She is now in excellent health, and has been a fabulous mother to her pups.  The best home for Lilly would have children over five, as it appears she loves kids.  A home with indoor cats is not recommended, and no small furries such as rabbits, birds or gerbils. Lilly’s new family should be willing to take her to some training classes where we expect she would do very well. A fenced yard is a must, but NO ELECTRONIC FENCING, please. Lilly does well on a leash with a martingale collar (shown in her picture). Positive motivational techniques work really well with Lilly as she really loves to please her people (I have not seen her meet a human she did not like yet).  She is sensitive and can easily be trained with food and praise. No shock collars, no choke chains, no tethering and no prong collars should ever be used on her.

If you think you might be a match for this amazing dog, please fill out an application online. Lilly Lou can’t wait to meet you!

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
