Dory is a sweet and gentle Shih Tzu mix.  She came from a local shelter after being surrendered there by a breeder.  Since arriving at her foster home, Dory has made wonderful progress.  She is playful and loves to snuggle.  Her tail never seems to stop wagging and she has such a happy personality.  Dory is house trained, crate trained and UTD on shots.  She is spayed and microchipped. 

But you must know some things about me before considering adding me to your family.  

1. I'm very skittish and need a quiet, calm home; ideally someone who has experience with shy dogs and breeder dogs.
2. I need someone with lots of patience, who will allow me to progress at my comfort level.
3. I'm afraid of children and fast movements, so wouldn't be happy in a home with kids.
4. I'm not very good with that leash thing.  My foster mom is helping me overcome this fear, but it is a work in progress! I need a securely fenced yard where I can freely walk around, but be kept safe.
5. It would be nice to have another dog as an additional canine companion, but he or she must be very calm and have a gentle demeanor...not aggressive to submissive dogs like me.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
