Description:
PUPDATE: Logan is a beautiful, sweet, loving and friendly guy who is really doing well in his puppy training. He loves training time and eagerly tries to learn knew tricks! He knows sit, down, stand, four-on-the-floor (no jumping up) pretty well. He has learned to be quiet in his crate, and loves to snuggle with his people. He is not mouthy but loves to chew on his toys, especially toys where a treat might come out of it. He is learning wait, and is doing well with leash walking. This pup is incredibly intelligent and wants to please!!! Loves all humans and does not have a mean bone in his little puppy body. He is maturing into a wonderfully well started puppy. Logan would do best in an active family. If another dog is in the home, he would pair best with another active female dog. Logan has been very well socialized so far, and could be very good in a doggy daycare setting. He will need a good amount of exercise, continued training and socialization for at least the next few months to be the best pup he can be. He requires a physically fenced in yard and children must be over 5 years old. Please read all the items below for additional information on this marvelous pup. Pupdate: Logan continues to be one of the most active pups in the litter and would be best in a home with a very active adult and/or older children. Logan loves to snuggle and play with his humans. The best pairing if another dog is part of the household would be another large female that likes to play. He has calmer moments, but is extremely intelligent and will need lots of physical and mental exercise to be the very best dog he can be. He is currently about 25#s, high energy. Very athletic and will need guidance on focusing his energy for the next year or more. Please note: This litter requires children to be over 5 years old and a physically fenced in yard—no “invisible fencing”.
Logan is a Male Great Dane Mix Puppy. He has an amazing coat with gold and silver tipped black fur. He is very energetic and SMART! Logan may be suitable for a home with older children. Logan will likely grow to be 75-85 pounds or more. His mom looks like an Entlebucher Mountain Dog, but could be a hound mix. Pictures were taken at 5 weeks old. These puppies will be ready to go to new homes AFTER November 16 but applications are being accepted NOW to find their perfect homes. They will likely be up to fifteen pounds at 8 weeks old. We are looking for homes with a physically fenced yard, owners that are willing to commit to socialization and positive motivational obedience training for the first year. No Electronic Fences. No shock collars, prong collars, choke chains. Martingale collars and head collars would be acceptable. These dogs would not be suited for apartment living. These puppies are sensitive, eager to please and very active. Did we mention SMART? They will need gentle but firm leadership and a lot of exercise. Children that are dog savvy and older than five years *might* be a good match for *some* puppies in the litter. Prospective adopters should keep in mind that some pups in the litter may reach 100 pounds full grown and may continue to grow until three years of age. Extra Large dogs can easily knock over young children, and will require LOTS of food. Great Danes are protective and loyal companions, and usually make great couch potatoes later in life, but these dogs are mixes who may not slow down as they get older. Some dogs in this litter have very short coats and may require a coat in very cold or wet weather. If this description sounds like the kind of adventure you are looking for, please fill out your application immediately and we will look forward to speaking to you soon about these amazing pups.
HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.
