Description:
Darcy is a feisty little sweetheart. She loves to play with the house dog who’s much bigger, although she was a bit intimidated at first. She opened up real quick. She wants to play with the house kitties but doesn’t understand why they won’t play back. She keeps on trying and won’t give up. She does like to chase them if she can find an opportunity. I think she would play well with a willing cat. Darcy has kinda big paws but her head seems on the smaller side. It’s hard to say what mix she is or how big she will get. She is mainly black on her body with tan/rusty legs and paws – Her face/head markings resemble anything from Shepherd to hound/beagle type mix to even a dachshund or min pin. Her back paws have white toes in the middle and she has cute floppy ears. Her tail is thin and likes to wag. She has a loud bark for one so little and has proven to give a good open howl once or twice as well. Darcy likes to be by her people. She likes to snuggle and cuddle but she does take a while to calm down, she is very playful and full of puppy hyperness. Darcy will need to learn to work on her manners but she has already picked up on sitting before treats and food and seems to have a great willingness to learn. Darcy is UTD on shots and is microchipped.
HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.
