Hi! My name is Champagne (aka "orange kitty")! I was found on the streets of Detroit by a kind lady feeding feral colonies. It was very clear to her that I was not feral as I would come right up to her for pets and cuddles every time she came, for over a month. One day, she came back with a carrier and I hopped right inside. 

I am grateful to be inside a cozy, warm home.  I do great with other cats, but NO DOGS...I do not like dogs and will go into attack mode!. In the feral kitty colony, I was always seen protecting one smaller kitty and making sure she ate first before the bigger cats came around. Though I have a tough tomcat face, I am a softie.

I am neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all my shots. At my vet appointment  they learned I will need some teeth extracted, so I will be getting that done real soon. I am a bit chatty right now and my finder thinks that's because my teeth are hurting me. The vet ran bloodwork and all my numbers came back in normal ranges. Because of my teeth (plus some grays in my fur) the vet thinks I may be a senior (or else an adult who has had a rough life). Because I've had a rough life, I am especially grateful for all the love and I'll bump my head against you non-stop to continue the pets and snuggles -- I am a guy worth getting to know! 

I would love a foster or adopter, so I can have a warm home and people to call my own!! While I'm very versatile about my future home, my foster mom thinks I'd really like to be with someone older, in a quieter home, where I get to be a spoiled only child. If this is you, please keep me in mind.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
