Description:

Yogi is a shy, but very sweet Shih Tzu mix.  He came all the way from West Virginia after being turned into a rural shelter as a stray.  His foster mom in WVa says this about him:

"I wanted to take a moment to talk about Hensley, now Yogi. He was picked up by a local kill shelter as a stray. He was in stray hold 5 days, but no one claimed him. He was matted, dirty and covered in fleas. He held his head so low, and seemed to have given up. Stray hold was up and he was going to be euthanized. Luckily, I got the ok to pull him, brought him home and IMMEDIATELY  trimmed him and bathed him. But getting him out of the carrier took some doing. I even tipped the carrier on its side and he dug in, terrified to come out. I had to take it apart. After his bath he came alive! I got soooo many kisses. His little body had flea bites everywhere! The water literally ran red the first two baths. It took some doing to get the flea, flea dirt and blood off of him.  I was told he was a runner, but he always ran TO me, not away. Even when he escaped through a tiny space between the gate and fence. I was working in my garden shed and although he could see me and was 10 feet from me.. he wanted to be with me. He seems to attach to his people and is most content to be held. Loves belly rubs. He may have some separation anxiety for a while. He’s such a love bug, and will look you in the eyes with adoration. He never pooed in his pen, but peed on puppy pads. He had access to kibble and soft food. He’d carry the wet food container (Caesar’s) to his bed and eat it there. He’ll look to you often for assurance it’s ok. I fell in love with him, and it was hard to let him go. I hope whoever is the lucky person that gets this boy will love him as much as he’ll love them.. he was truly grateful. I could feel it. Please take care of him, and allow his kisses as much as he wants. He deserves this great life ahead of him."

Yogi is UTD on vaccines and microchipped.  He will be neutered soon.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
