Description:

Hi, I am Magdalena aka Maggie.  I am a Shepherd-Catahoula Hound Mix with lots of energy and a quick learning style.  I know all sorts of commands and I am crate trained.  I even know how to let myself out to the yard by using the door handle!

I enjoy having a job because of my working dog breed. My job in my foster home includes carrying things, putting things in boxes, and letting foster momma chase me around the yard. I do like water and I also like finding toys under water in my pool.

I like walks. I have a special harness to keep my focused on our walks and not on the squirrels.  I am not a fan of cats and probably not bunnies.  I do have a bit of a prey drive and that is why I dislike squirrels so much or I was a hunting dog in my previous life.

I enjoy playing with other dogs and I often play with dogs around my size or larger.  I like playing tug with them and chase.  We can even play fetch together.  I enjoy greeting dogs with hound dog talk and some dogs do not always care for that approach.  Foster momma makes sure I meet dogs who would enjoy my greeting style.

I do partake in silly houndy antics at times.  I tried to bring the pooper scooper in the house.  I was trying to be helpful.  I  like bringing my favorite ball in from outside to my crate at night and back outside in the morning. I do not want the squirrel to take it.

I not only need physical exercise but new challenges to exercise my super smart brain.  An owner with Shepherd and/or hound experience would be best. If you could be my new family, please let me know.

Maggie is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and spayed.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
