Description:

I would like you all to meet Cinnamon.

Cinnamon is a Chow Mix, she is 14 1/2  years old, and she very much has a need for human companionship. I will be working very hard to help her lose weight and to be as healthy as she can be as she navigates her senior life.

Cinnamon came to us from a retired gentleman who lives here in Chelsea. Sadly, his wife passed away recently and now he is scheduled to have back surgery in September after a recent fall. These events have made it difficult for him to care for Cinnamon as well as his other dog that is now in the care of Happy Days Rescue.

Cinnamon has adjusted to being removed from her home better than I expected. She arrived here last Friday and she quickly attached herself to me since I had been over to the home several times before taking her away. She didn’t eat the first two days and I could clearly see her insecurity and sadness but she soon decided she enjoys taking walks with me four times a day. She had been at her home since she was a puppy and she doesn’t know anything else. Even so, I now see a drive in her wanting to be more active even with her extreme weight condition.

I have Cinnamon on a very controlled diet and I spend time with her as often as I can to keep her spirits up. She isn’t available for adoption just yet but I would very much like to place her into a loving environment once she’s healthier. If you are interested in meeting Cinnamon please submit an adoption application online at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org.

I will post updates on Cinnamon’s progress along with photos of her weight loss journey. Her first Vet appt. is scheduled for next Wednesday but I am told she is up to date on shots and routine care.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
