Description:
Many of you will remember
Cody
, our very friendly and loving Pointer Mix and, originally, a resident at the Mikey & Me kennels back in November for Happy Days Rescue.
Cody
, now just 8 months old, has recently been diagnosed with enamel hypoplasia, a condition that, during his development, caused him to have a very thin enamel layer on his teeth and that will make his teeth susceptible to deterioration and decay. This condition is likely a result of
Cody
’s mother having Distemper while carrying him.
As a result,
Cody
will need a full mouth dental restoration (estimated between $1200-$1600) to help keep his teeth healthy for as long as possible. Mikey & Me Foster Care will be paying for his restoration surgery in full, thanks to the generous support of our FB followers; his surgery is scheduled for July 8th in Ann Arbor. After that
Cody
will need annual dental checkups and cleanings, and whatever follow up care may be necessary to maintain the integrity of his teeth.
With this effort, I am hoping we can place
Cody
into a safe and happy family home and that he can enjoy being a young dog without losing some or all of his teeth.
Cody
loves playing with other dogs and going to the dog parks. He is good with people, kids included, and he enjoys playing ball.
Cody
can be an ornery puppy and he doesn’t always like to take walks; he will let you know by pulling you back to the door he came out of.
I
prefer that serious applicants have a fenced in yard for Cody to play in because he loves being outside and interacting with his people and his toys.
Please share this post with your family and friends to help us find the best home for Cody. I will contact those applicants that seem to be the best fit for Cody once the adoption applications have been approved.
HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a
$19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee
to change information.
Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
