Description:
Hi everyone, I'm Archie!
I'm new to the rescue and still a little unsure of what to make of everything, but I can tell I'm safe now. I was in a shelter for a little bit, and that was super scary! Thankfully there were some other dogs there, and at my foster home I have a big sister I can follow around. I like being around other dogs, it makes me more confident and I feel protected. I'm not ready to play yet, but when I was at the shelter I liked to play with the other dogs there. I want to like people too, I'm just a little nervous. I don't have a mean bone in my body, I'm still just a puppy at 8 months old and about 40lbs, so all these changes are scary. Im warming up to my foster mom, but only when I can see her dog is with her. My favorite place is my crate! I feel safe and secure. I've been leaving it to take short sniffs around the apartment, but I run back in anytime someone sees me, because I know I am safe in there.
Archie is a beautiful and mixed breed with a super beautiful and unique coat. If you look at his paws and chest you'll see a sprinkling of what is called "roan", a light pattern of white hairs throughout. His head is mostly tan, with small circles of dark brown between his ears and eyes. His ears are tan and expressive, he perks them up when content and lowers them when unsure, or listening. His back and neck are coated in the same dark brown color he has near his eyes, with some of the tan sneaking through and blending out the sides.
We're not sure if Archie is house trained yet, but should know soon. He is great with other dogs, and very timid with new people at first. No information on cats or children. He arrived the night of 2.20.21 so we should know more information soon.
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
