Meet Caylee, our newest resident at the Mikey & Me kennels for Happy Days Rescue.

Caylee came to us on Thursday evening, she was very scared and wouldn’t come close to anyone yet seemed like she wanted to trust us. She is a smaller Shepherd Mix at just 2 years old and she weighs about 45 pounds. The information I received is that she was living in a dirty, 10x10 kennel without much interaction from her owners.

In just four days, Caylee is coming up to us more freely now and she has been taking walks with each of our volunteers. I get the impression she didn’t have much love but that she desperately wants it. Caylee has been happy to meet our other dogs and she very much enjoys going outside for walks and some free time in the outdoor play area.

If you would like to meet Caylee, please submit an adoption application under her name at  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org . Once approved, I’ll invite applicants out to meet Caylee in the order they were received until a permanent home can be found.

All of us at Mikey & Me Foster Care want our adoptions to be successful and we will be here to support Caylee’s transition to her new home. Since she is still learning to trust new people and adapt to changes, we may want to transition her slowly, over time, allowing Caylee the time she needs to feel safe and secure in her new environment.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
