Description:

Violet is a wonderful, sweet dog,  We think she is around 1 year old  and weighs around 35 last time she was weighted she is up to date on all her shots and has been spayed. Violet is timid with new things and people but that is improving everyday. She still needs a little work on the leash and is currently using a gentle lead most of the time but I can take it off for awhile, but when she gets excited she is back to pulling again. She has started playing fetch in the house but doesn't want to play it outside yet. She does bark at the door if people walk by or come up to the door.

Violet gets along with other dogs and would probably benefit from another dog in the home, not sure about cats. I think this little girl will thrive in time with patience and positive reinforcements. She does eat treats on walk if there isn't a lot of distractions. She knows sit and lay down and is getting better with the command stay. You pull out the leash and she is a very happy little wiggle butt. She likes going for walks, but is intimidated by things when walking ( bushes, sticks on the side walk, etc) but is improving and just needs time and patience.

I think with time she will get past being scared on walks. I think she likes going on trails the best. She has been crated and I haven't had any issues with her, she is quite  in her crate. I don't crate her anymore she has free range in the house and hasn't gotten into anything, she is potty trained. She does try to eat her food a little to fast, so I put a ball in her food to try and slow her down.

Violet is just starting to like to go outside and run around on her own with out me coming out. I think who ever adopts her will need to go on walks or running, she has a lot of energy but she can lay down and just be quite also. She will stick by here person meaning she won't take her eyes off of you. I don't know if I would have younger kids around her since she is timid at meeting people at times. She does warm up but she is always on alert with noises and people moving around. She would need a fenced backyard because she likes to go out and run around to get some of that energy out. No invisible fences for Violet. She also would not be a good fit for an apartment. I really think she needs to do a agility course or some kind of exercise to make her more confident.

Violet is looking for a family that will continue to help her blossom. If you are interested in Violet fill out an application at Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
