Description:
Meet Chantel!

This little one had a very rough start in life, thrown out on the side of the road in a box with her little siblings before they were eight weeks old. Chantel is a lovely higher energy mix breed dog that will end up between 35-45 pounds we expect. We suspect German Shepherd may be in her mix, as she has a stunning Sable Tipped coat, in bridle shades of brown and gold.

Chantel and her siblings came into the rescue underweight, with mange, missing tons of fur and pretty unsocialized.
All that is behind this baby now:  She’s healthy, all vaccinations are done (including rabies), she has a thick, lush and shiny coat.  She’s estimated to be around 5 months old. She is a healthy 21pounds, and has typical puppy energy.

Chantel loves her people, enjoys watching movies on our laps (it does take her a bit to settle down but she usually naps during most of the movie) , walks well on a leash and is crate trained. She also is eager to meet other dogs, we think she would do best matched with an older calmer dog of the opposite sex. She has never nipped, but can jump up and unintentionally scratch, so older sturdy kids are recommended, over the age of 8 is preferred). We are looking for an owner willing to commit to some puppy training and socialization to make Chantel into the best pup she can be.

Chantel would do best with one or two walks per day, and if you are an active person/family, a detached condo situation would work or pet friendly apartment situation.

We are looking for a very special person to be Chantel’s person/people. Positive Motivational Training is a must with her. NO electronic fencing, e-collars, prong or harsh training methods.  If you have a home with a yard, a physical fence is required.  NO tie-outs.

If you think you are a match for this darling one, please request an application today by emailing  compassdogrescue@gmail.com  !

requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a    $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee    to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
