PLEASE NOTE – Lyric is not yet available for adoption, but we are accepting adoption applications for her.
Lyric is a Maltese mix that was turned into animal control as a stray. She is estimated to be about 4 years old. She is a petite pup, with a lean body and long legs. She carries her tail up, curled over her body. When relaxed or scared, her tail tends to droop. She is all white with just a hint of gold sprinkled over her back and head.
Lyric has a friendly disposition but is sensitive, so can be frightened easily, especially if humans are loud or yelling. No harsh verbal corrections for this pup. She only requires a mild correction for unwanted behaviors. Due to her sensitive demeanor, she can become frightened to the point of growling [no history of biting], so placement would be preferred in an all-adult home. However, a home with children 12 years and older would also be considered. No young children please.
Lyric is intelligent and learns quickly. She resides with four other dogs and does well with them all. She is crate trained, potty trained, walks great on a leash, enjoys car rides, has shown no food or possession aggression, and has been very quiet in her foster home so far. She has a healthy appetite and enjoys treats. She does try and 'share' treats with other dogs, a behavior which is discouraged and corrected.
Lyric is currently being treated for a URI so cannot go to adoption yet. She is UTD on all her vaccines. She will be microchipped and spayed before going to her adoptive home.
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
