Description:
Meet Scout – Your Loyal Packmate!
Breed: Blue Tick Coonhound / Great Pyrenees Mix
Age: 1 year old
Scout is a gentle, laid-back soul with a playful streak and a heart full of loyalty. He’s excellent with other dogs, cats, chickens, and people of all ages. A true pack animal, Scout thrives in the company of other dogs and  must  be placed in a home with at least one canine companion. Separation from his pack makes him anxious, so he’s looking for a family that understands his need for togetherness.
Personality & Skills:
  • Calm, affectionate, and easygoing
  • Loves to track and chase deer—his hound instincts shine!
  • Curious and clever (yes, he’s an escape artist!)
  • Walks well on leash with a gentle trot, though he can be a little fussy about it
  • Dislikes car rides but is working on it
Special Notes:
  • Scheduled to be neutered this month (we hope this helps with his wanderlust!)
  • Currently underweight due to being picky about food, but he’s on a weight-gain journey and doing great
  • Must live in a country setting with plenty of space to roam
  • Best suited for an experienced hound owner who understands his instincts and energy
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will bring joy and adventure to your life, Scout might be your perfect match!

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The microchip is transferred to the adopter once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a one-time $15 microchip enrollment fee.  Microchips are enrolled with AKC Reunite.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
