Bart ❤️'s Sponsorship Page
Bart ❤️

Bart is a 8 yo Chihuahua mix with a cute underbite. Bart has been mistreated and just wants to be loved and treated with kindness and to never be mistreated again. Bart takes time to warm up to people and can be selective. Bart is who he is going to be. Once comfortable he is a very sweet boy, he will follow you everywhere, he loves petting and will burrow his head into you, sit on your lap, and lay with you. He will do best living with one person . But whoever is interested in Bart will need experience with this type of behavior and his breed. He should not be pushed or treated with harsh discipline. He  needs a loving patient person.   He likes to be by his person at all times. He is extremely loving and loyal but he can be a bit of a curmudgeon at times. Bart is joyful when his person comes home, he wants to play, or its time to eat. He loves treats! He is protective and will guard his person from others . Bart has Intervertebral Disk Disease which effects his hind legs which cause him to walk with a stiffer gait and limits his ability to jump and climb stairs. He does take pain pills for this at times and may need further intervention for this in the future. Bart would do better with minimal stairs in the home. This does not stop him from wanting to sit on the couch by his person, or the bed to lay with his person.   Bart would love to be doted on and to be an only dog in the home. Bart is house trained if let out frequently and likes to go out in a fenced yard. An apartment would not be a good fit for Bart. He would love for someone to be home most of the time, but not required. He will need a confident but loving patient person and quiet calm home. He would do best in a child-free, quiet, consistent home. Bart deserves a chance to live in a loving home. If you feel that home is with you fill out an application.

Bart is UTD on vaccines, neutered and microchipped.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
